Secure Your Website Before October 1st
Thursday, August 24, 2017
In October website visitors using Google Chrome will see a 'not secure' warning when viewing a website without a valid SSL certificate (not using HTTPS) (Source). Warning messages in browsers have already started appearing with some websites. Firefox is currently displaying a 'not secure' warning on pages with form fields.
What this means for website owners is that visitors will see error messages in their browsers when viewing websites that do not have a valid SSL certificate installed. The certificate will make it more difficult for hackers to intercept information submitted in forms and change web page content before it gets loaded into a browser. The warning may effect the amount of traffic that your website generates especially return visitors. You can view more information on HTTPS secured websites and SSL certificates in an earlier blog post.
The good news is that we can help! We can purchase an SSL certificate and install and renew it on your website for you. Your visitors will be assured that their interaction with your website will be more safe and secure. Contact us today to see how we can help!
